KIMONO RENTAL

Yamaguchi City Saikotei offers kimono rentals in cooperation with a group that encourages people to enjoy walking around Yamaguchi in a kimono.

You could change into a kimono and take some memorable photos in Saikotei’s garden or at a tourist spot, have a cup of matcha (powdered green tea), or enjoy a retro experience by going for a ride in a rickshaw operated by Saikotei.

Imagine Yourself as a Patriot in the Closing Days of the Tokugawa Shogunate!

Yamaguchi’s charming townscape includes many historical spots connected to the Meiji Restoration that brought an end to the Tokugawa shogunate: Old Yamaguchi Domain Administrative Headquarters Gate, Toshunji Temple, Kozan Graveyard (burial site for members of the Mori family, who were the lords of Choshu Domain), Tatekoji (a historical street), Jippotei (the old house of the Bandai family, wealthy merchants who supported Yamaguchi’s patriots), and Noda Jinja Shrine. Why not go around to these historical spots and get some pictures of yourself wearing a kimono at them?
